Public Invited to League of Cincinnati Theatres'
CURTAIN UP! Annual Theatre Kick-off Party
Monday September 29th
The LEAGUE OF CINCINNATI THEATRES (LCT) will host its 2003-2004 season kick-off party CURTAIN UP! on Monday September 29th at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park from 5:30-8:30 pm.
Admission is FREE and will include FREE hors d'oevres, complimentary wine and beer, and a cash bar. Raffle prizes including tickets to upcoming LCT productions will also be awarded.
CURTAIN UP! is a wonderful opportunity to mingle with and meet the theatre artists who create the magic on the stages of Cincinnati's growing and exciting theatre scene.
Entertainment will be provided by a dozen member theatres performing short scenes, sketches and songs every ten minutes or so in a fair-like atmosphere scattered throughout the various areas of the Playhouse. Theatres scheduled to perform include the Playhouse in the Park, Know Theatre Tribe, Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival, Clear Stage Cincinnati, Ovation Theatre Company, Women's Theatre Initiative, Falcon Productions, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Next Generation Dance Company, Performance Gallery, and Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative.
Literature and brochures from all LCT member theatres will be available and representatives from these theatres will be on hand to discuss their upcoming 2003-2004 seasons in a relaxed party setting.
LCT will also present its 2003 Award for Continuing Excellence in Cincinnati Theatre to director/actor/ writer and long-time College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) drama professor Michael Burnham.
CURTAIN UP! is proud to be part of the 20/20 Celebration (20 days and 20 nights) of Enjoy the Arts/ Start that is geared toward young adults and students. ETA/Start representatives will also be on hand with information about their programs.
THE LEAGUE OF CINCINNATI THEATRES was founded in 1999 to bring together Greater Cincinnati's theatre community. By sponsoring workshops featuring leading arts professionals, providing an open forum to share ideas and hosting the annual Unified Auditions in June, the League hopes to strengthen an already popular and fast-growing theatre community.
